i went to the gym today. i'm probably in my worst shape ever - not only do i feel out of shape, but i'm the heaviest i've ever been. yep, not a good combination. i think what helps is a workout buddy. whenever they ask you if you're going or why you didn't go, you'll feel guilty. plus, if there's nobody to push you you'll never strive to go that extra mile.

'don't be a mental midget!!'

Yeah, you killed all my Riggins jokes after I learned that you secretly thrive on them. I spent about a minute trying to make a Lyla joke... something about how she's my work out motivation but everything was either vulgar or strange. The usual.

Keep writing, Riggs.

FIRST

k, with that nonsense out of the way (you asked for it), down to the point: I agree. It's seeing the physical/health results that drives me to train and stay in shape. Nothing demoralizes me more than running a familiar route in my neighborhood and struggling more than usual. On the flip side, nothing makes me feel better than chasing down a bus, or some other informal, unplanned race, and not even breaking a sweat. Don't get me wrong, not having a gut and looking good is nice, but it's more of a bonus.
